Juliana Badaro Langille
Juliana Badaro Langille emigrated to the United States from Brazil in 2001. She is currently working on a project to increase global food production in partnership with governments, non-governmental organizations, public and private companies. She speaks fluent English, Portuguese and Spanish, has basic communication skills in Cape Verdean Creole, Italian and French.
She is currently president and CEO of the International Community Empowerment Center. In her diverse roles, she will be able to utilize her more than 20 years of experience in nonprofit organizations and private companies, as well as extensive experience in public health and community coalition building. Juliana is an entrepreneur who owns two private businesses in the United States and also two businesses in Brazil.
Juliana was a consultant for the Community Anti-Drug Coalition of America (CADCA) international program, where she provided training and technical assistance to communities in Brazil, Cape Verde and Uganda for over 10 years. Juliana, currently a director and advisor, has experience in community organizing and is one of the founders of the Student Immigrant Movement (SIM), an organization led by young immigrants across the state of Massachusetts, which identifies, recruits and develops leaders in local cities and towns that invest in improving their communities through relationship building, leadership development, electoral organizing and using strategic and motivational campaigns to mobilize people.
Juliana was Executive Director of Community Connections of Brockton - Family Center for seven years; a nonprofit organization that seeks to establish active partnerships with parents, residents, community groups, service agencies, businesses and others who want to strengthen families, neighborhoods and communities.
Juliana served on the board of directors: Ascentria, Massachusetts Immigrant & Refugee Advocacy Coalition. The Good Samaritan Hospital - Community Benefits Committee, the Massachusetts Regional Council of the Department of Children and Families, the State Advisory Council of the Department of Children and Families of Massachusetts, and the Massachusetts Attorney General's Advisory Council on Immigrant Issues.
